Dear Friends of Alice Water Project Here is a letter from a dear Kenyan lady,Alice, who came to the US, received her PhD and has gone back to Daystar University in Kenya. It is her village area that the Alice Water Project is pointed towards helping by the Lord’s grace. Hi Family, It seems that the journey to AWP's fulfillment is a thorny journey, which reminds me of a mission journey I made as a teenager through the desert, thorny bushes and a scary path. It was a horrifying journey but knowing that the Lord wanted me to make it made me move on relentlessly. My sister and brother, after arriving at the mission field through obedience, the mission turned out to be a lifetime experience because God came down so powerfully that the blind regained sight. This is a true story but I have continued to draw lessons from it because this journey of life at times requires flashbacks for us to regain reality and focus. Dada na ndugu, I know the Lord knows the vows we made to His people and will for sure lead us on. It's just that we get weary at times and the Road seems endless, as if the thorns are impermeable. We on this side are also reminded by his people all the time that their need has not been met. This becomes tough going. It also makes us lose motivation to go to the village. Finally, yes, you have a black for a President of United States of America. Yes, you do. His campaign motto: Yes we can! Brother and sister, we may not have the monetary strength but our hearts are BIG, our spirits STRONG. We will move by the strength of God's Spirit FOR INDEED IT IS NOT BY POWER NOR BY MIGHT BUT BY THE SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD THAT AWP WILL BE A REALITY ONE DAY in our lifetime. If it will happen when we are gone, there will be no one to tell the youth of OUR thorny journey. Pass our love to our family. May God keep you always safe. We love you. Alice and Munene | |
